- The head of the Zakamensky district of Buryatia was detained for illegal hunting of raisins
The head of the Zakamensky district of Buryatia, Sergei Gonzhitov, was detained for illegally hunting raisins. The official himself told Izvestia about this on May 3.
It is noted that in early April, Gonzhitov, along with the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser, went to the hunting grounds in the Einek Gol area, where he tracked down a red deer and shot it with a rifled carbine with a thermal imager.
At the same time, the official butchered the deer carcass, after which he placed it in the trunk. On the same night, he was detained by the staff of the regional border department. Gonzhitov also did not have a permit for the extraction of an animal. According to the politician, a case is currently under investigation into the incident.
In December 2025, the Department for the Protection of Wildlife of the Amur Region reported that inspectors from the Amur Hunting Supervision had detained a group of poachers who had illegally obtained two ungulates in the Tynda district. It was noted that an arsenal of weapons, as well as meat of moose and raisins, were seized from violators from the Skovorodinsky district.
