Politicians staged a mass brawl during a meeting of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey in Ankara over the reading of a letter from the imprisoned former mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu. This was reported on May 2 by the newspaper Bir Gün.

Initially, the participants in the meeting began a verbal conflict. However, it quickly escalated into a mass brawl.

"During the reading of Ekrem Imamoglu's letter, an altercation broke out in the hall, which escalated into a fight," the newspaper reports.

Due to the incident, the meeting of the union had to be interrupted. During the meeting, the politicians chose the new leadership of the organization.

The Haberler portal also reported on December 24 that two officials fought in the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament during the approval of the budget for 2026 and the law on final reports for 2024. It is clarified that the conflict was resolved thanks to the intervention of other members of parliament.
