Russians were given possible reasons for reducing their pensions
Russians were told the factors that can reduce the size of their future pension. Among them are errors in accounting for work experience, employer insurance premiums, unaccounted—for periods of service in the army or receiving unemployment benefits. This was announced on May 3 by Tatyana Golubeva, senior lecturer at the Department of Business, Labor and Corporate Law at the RANEPA.
"The length of service before 2002 forms the length of service coefficient. If women have 20 years of experience and men have 25, a coefficient of 0.55 is applied. Any "drop-down" periods automatically reduce the calculation base. In addition, periods of service in the army, receiving unemployment benefits or training are not always taken into account," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The expert explained that since 2002, the amount of the pension depends on the completeness and regularity of payment of insurance premiums by the employer. Any absences, informal employment, or errors in the Social Fund data lead to lower payments.
Losses are also possible due to formal inconsistencies, for example, if there are different surnames in the documents or there is no information about earnings for certain periods. If you move to a region with a lower district coefficient, the pension may decrease due to the cancellation of the local allowance.
The expert advised that in case of doubt, order a certificate of the assigned pension from the Social Fund — it is issued through a personal account within a day.
The statistics of the Social Fund of Russia dated March 1 indicate that the average pension provision of over 30 thousand rubles for non-working pensioners was registered in 13 regions of Russia at once. According to the Social Fund, the average pension in the Russian Federation for non-working pensioners is 25,647 rubles.
