The State Duma announced a shortened working day on May 8.
The working day on May 8 will be reduced by one hour. This was stated on May 2 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
"The eighth of May, like April 30, are pre—holidays, during which work is reduced by one hour," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
She clarified that in May of this year, Russians will have 19 working days and 12 days off and holidays.
A SuperJob study on April 28 revealed that about 14% of Russian residents will work during the May holidays, which is a record number of people working on these dates over the past five years. At the same time, according to the survey, there will be more men in the workplace than women (15 and 13%, respectively).
