The expert named the most profitable month for vacation in the second half of the year

July is the most profitable month for vacations in the second half of 2026. This was announced on May 3 by Sergey Muravyov, HR Director of KROS.

"The calculation in July for a salary of 100 thousand rubles with a vacation of 14 days shows that vacation pay will amount to about 47,782 rubles, which completely covers the salary loss. In July, 23 working days is the most profitable month for rest in the second half of the year," he told the Prime agency.

Muravyov explained that vacation conditions become more advantageous as the number of working days per month increases. So, the most unfavorable month for Russians to rest in the second half of the year will be November, in which, according to the calendar, 20 working days are expected. It is also not recommended to take a vacation in August — there are 21 working days in the last summer month.

Production calendar for 2026: official weekends and holidays

Lawyer hh.ru Alexander Kuznetsov said on May 1 that work on the May holidays will be paid in double amounts. Such compensation is provided to specialists on a salary, as well as to employees with hourly or piecework pay and shift workers. The expert also said that an employee has the right to voluntarily waive double pay for work on holidays in favor of additional unpaid days off — the employer cannot impose such a decision.
