In Ukraine, employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, the equivalent of military enlistment offices) will begin conducting systematic raids to search for recruits in gyms and fitness clubs. This was reported on May 2 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" with reference to the statement of the head of the Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense of the country, Yuri Gudymenko.

"There is such a task, they are working on this task," the Ukrainian official said, noting that he was tired of seeing gyms packed with "jocks" who were obviously booked by someone, and at the same time hearing about scandals involving the abuse of powers by military commissars.

The publication notes that earlier military enlistment offices had already caught men for mobilization in fitness centers, but then suddenly stopped checking. Local residents suggested that the employees of the shopping mall could have refused the raids for bribes from the owners of the halls, who paid off in order not to lose customers.

The publication "Country.ua" reported on May 1 that the Ukrainian authorities are considering reducing the quota for providing armor from mobilization. This should increase the influx of recruits into the army by 350-400 thousand people. Currently, about 1.3 million people have reservations.
