On May 5, the premiere of the poetry project "Live Voices" will take place on the VK Video platform. The poems of the front-line poets will receive a new reading performed by artists and singers accompanied by an orchestra. There are only five episodes about the main stages of the war. Ilya Anikeev, a correspondent for Izvestia, spoke in more detail about the project.

These artists gather full halls and confidently perform in front of an audience of thousands. But amid the ringing silence of the blockaded loudspeakers, the voice is wavering, and emotions are rushing out.

"I've never read this poem without crying, to be honest. I just had a wild roar in the middle, I couldn't cope with it in any way. But I went out, got ready and did it," said stand-up comedian Olga Malashchenko.

In Russian literature, the poetry of the Great Patriotic War stands apart.

"It's very hard work, exciting, because I'm not a professional reader, it doesn't work out the way I would like, because Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky read Gudzenko's poem as part of the Taganka play," said musician Vasily Vakulenko (Basta).

"Living Voices" is a poetry project in which famous artists and bloggers, accompanied by a symphony orchestra, tell their favorite poems about the Great Patriotic War. These lines touch a nerve and do not leave anyone indifferent, because they are written about the most terrible events in the history of our motherland.

The facts known from the lessons of history in the poems of the front-line poets are colored with authentic flavor and personal drama.

"There are families where they honor these traditions and talk about it. As a military son, my whole life is spent talking about important things," said comedian and actor Denis Dorokhov.

Five editions of the Live Voices project will be available on the VK Video platform.

"This block of stone in the shape of a heart symbolizes that this war is frozen in each of us, the light from it is pierced by memories. This is how we want to express that we should not forget about her," said Sergey Kolotilin, the creative producer of the project.

Each cycle tells about one of the stages of the war, which became an unhealing wound and at the same time a symbol of the heroism of the entire Soviet people.

"I was born in Belarus, I am a Belarusian. Considering that the defenders of the Brest Fortress were the first to take the blow, of course, this determined the choice of this work. And the poem was written by a direct participant in these events. I can't believe how this small piece of land could resist the huge fascist force for so long," said comedian, actor, and TV presenter Vadim Galygin.

The lines written in the trenches in 41st and in victorious May 45th are about those who died but did not give up, about the famine in besieged Leningrad, about the steadfastness and courage of the defenders of Stalingrad.

"I chose Julia Drunina's "Soldier's Days". She wrote this poem at the age of 17. I'm close to her in age, because I'm 22 years old, and I can't imagine how I would have survived these events," said actress Polina Denisova.

"Such important stories of fate need to be passed on and written in books about them, so that children can further compare and understand how valuable the feat accomplished by our grandfathers and great—grandfathers was," said Todorenko, a TV presenter from the Region.

The premiere of the first poetry issue will take place on May 5 on the VK Video platform. "Living Voices" is a memory project that cannot be missed.

Izvestia reported on April 29 that users of the Odnoklassniki social network had the opportunity to honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) through the free Flower of Victory mini-application. The service allows you to virtually lay a bouquet of flowers at memorials in 25 cities. After selecting a memorial from the list and clicking the "Lay flowers" button, the user receives a video recording of the process, which shows the laying of a real flower on his behalf.
