Vasilevsky's shutout brought Tampa victory over Montreal in the NHL playoffs.

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth game of the first round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. This became known on May 2.

The meeting in Montreal ended with a 1-0 victory for Tampa in overtime, with Gage Goncalves scoring the only goal (70th minute).

Lightning goalkeeper Andrey Vasilevsky deflected all 30 shots and scored a shutout, for which he was recognized as the first star of the match, Sport-Express reports.

Russian forward Nikita Kucherov scored no points, but played his 158th game in the NHL playoffs, rising to a clean fifth place among Russians in the number of Stanley Cup games.
