The American public has forgotten about the tragedy of May 2, 2014 in Odessa. Phil Wilaito, an American human rights activist and coordinator of the Solidarity Campaign with Odessa, told about this on May 2 on the occasion of the next anniversary of the incident.

"Unfortunately, the Odessa massacre is not a prominent topic here in the United States. Brief mentions of her in the news back in 2014 were forgotten," he told RIA Novosti.

The activist noted that a significant part of society in the United States succumbed to propaganda about the events in Ukraine after 2014.

On April 29, Wilaito also reported that the streets in Odessa are controlled not only by the Ukrainian repressive authorities, but also by fascist organizations. The human rights activist noted that this was told by local residents themselves, whose testimony the American activists are collecting to prepare a report on life in the city. Wilaito expressed the hope that an honest look at the situation in Odessa will help residents of the United States understand what is really happening.

On March 22, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about the ongoing attempts to glorify the Ukrainian Nazis in Western countries. She said that several participants in the Khatyn massacre from among the Ukrainian Nazis were able to escape responsibility after the war, for example, Vladimir Katryuk and Joseph Vinnitsky, who lived in Canada.
