Last Wednesday, Edward Juul Red-Larsen, the son of two high-ranking Norwegian diplomats under investigation in connection with financier Jeffrey Epstein, committed suicide in Oslo. This was reported on April 30 by the newspaper Verdens Gang (VG).

It is noted that the incident occurred against the background of the publication of information that the man's parents, Mona Juul and Terje Red—Larsen, took him to Epstein Island at the age of 10. The financier later bequeathed $5 million to Edward himself.

His parents came under investigation after the country's Ministry of Justice discovered their alleged ties to the late financier. In a statement released by the couple's lawyers, one of the reasons for the heir's suicide is his financial ties to Epstein.

"The public's attention has not only affected the two parents, but has also unwittingly drawn their children into the relentless machine of public control," the family's lawyers noted.

Epstein's files began to be published on December 20 last year, after the US president signed a bill on their publication on November 19 of the same year.

On February 14, former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi published a list of more than 300 names of famous people who are mentioned in the files on the financier's case. It was clarified that the text contains the names of the 42nd American president Bill Clinton, the 46th head of state Joe Biden, one of the founders of Microsoft, Bill Gates, as well as singer Beyonce.

Sky News reported on March 6 that the U.S. Department of Justice has released additional documents related to the Epstein case. Earlier, Western media claimed that the American agency had hidden dozens of FBI interviews with Epstein's victims. It is reported that after publications in the media, the documents became available again.
