Peace, labor, games: the best projects of the last month of spring
No one can guarantee the warmth during the May weekend. But the development studios definitely promise that there will be something to play in their free time this month. Izvestia has compiled a selection of the central projects of May.

Genre: Adventure
What to play on: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, NintendoSwitch 2
The game, which was included in the digest of the most interesting indie projects of this year from Izvestia. The mixtape evokes associations with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and seeks to tell the story of growing up in the 1990s. But that's where the similarities end: the plot centers on a group of teenagers who, on their way to a party after their last day of school, reminisce about their years of study. The animation in the game is inspired by stop motion, and the narrative is entirely built around soundtracks. Players will enjoy a nostalgia parade featuring hits by The Smashing Pumpkins and other legendary bands.
Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game

Four years have passed since the release of the latest installment of the interactive film anthology from Supermassive Games The Dark Pictures. The fifth game, Directive 8020, was announced a long time ago, and high hopes are pinned on it: after a rough start, the series is noticeably growing in quality with each part. This time, players will find a sci-fi setting, clearly inspired by the films "Alien", "Something" and "Through the Horizon". In the story, a group of astronauts find themselves trapped inside a crashed spaceship along with a shape-shifting monster.

In 2020, the Spanish studio Out of the Blue released its debut game, Call of the Sea, a first—person adventure in which the player solved puzzles while acting as a researcher searching for her missing husband. The project received warm reviews and proved successful enough for the studio to embark on a sequel, which, apparently, relies even more heavily on Lovecraft plots. They promise even more sophisticated puzzles, as well as the ability to switch between two characters. At the same time, difficulty levels will be available for those who find the gameplay too difficult.

A meditative adventure with no clear plot, in which the player embarks on a journey through a picturesque open world in his own van. The story is presented through the exploration of the world, and the main focus is on the feeling of freedom, solitude and life on the road. The gameplay focuses on building a mobile van base that can be expanded, customized, and improved. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
When it will be released: May 22
Genre: Adventure
What to play on: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, NintendoSwitch 2
By definition, "Children's" LEGO games over and over again do not lower the bar of quality and are interesting to players of all ages. Legacy of the Dark Knight significantly rethinks the formula for success, but does not make it worse. The developers will cover the entire biography of Batman, not without references to films, as well as to famous comic plots. The combat system is inspired by the Arkham series from Rocksteady, and the game itself promises to be filled to the brim with fan service. Hopefully, it will be hilariously funny, just like the other games in the franchise.
Paralives
When it will be released: May 25
Genre: Life simulator
What to play on: PC
History knows dozens of high-profile statements about the creation of the "killer" of the famous Sims life simulator. So the developers of Paralives are aiming at the same goal. The project will focus on flexible construction and advanced customization: you can freely change the size of objects, customize houses and furniture in detail. The realistic behavior of the characters plays an important role — their emotions and relationships are more deeply worked out. Unlike The Sims, the game will offer more freedom and fewer strict restrictions, focusing on creativity and system simulation rather than pre-defined content and scenarios.
007 First Light
When it will be released: May 27
Genre: action, adventure
What to play on: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, NintendoSwitch 2
Numerous fans of the 007 franchise have actively dodged constant spoilers, including the leaked ending, and will finally wait for the release of the new James Bond game. The super Spy will appear behind the wheel of his Aston Martin in 007 First Light at the end of the month. The game will show Bond as a young recruit who is offered a place in the revived 00 program. The project will tell an original story inspired by the novels of Ian Fleming, as well as the Bond films. Considering that the developers have created the Hitman series, a new contender for the "Game of the Year" is possible.
