Anaheim beat Edmonton and advanced to the second round of the NHL playoffs.

Hockey Club Anaheim defeated Edmonton 5-2 in the sixth game on May 1 and advanced to the second round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. The victory allowed Anaheim to end the match with a final score of 4-2 and advance to the next round.

Forwards Ryan Peeling, Chris Kreider, Cutter Gauthier, Troy Terry and Leo Karlsson scored for the winners, while defender Connor Murphy and forward Vasily Podkolzin scored for Edmonton.

For Anaheim, this is the first participation in the playoffs since the 2017/18 season, when the team lost in the first round to the San Jose Sharks with a score of 0-4. In the second round, the club will play the winner of the series between the Vegas Golden Knights and Utah, where Vegas leads 3-2 after five matches. The sixth meeting will be held on the night of May 2, Moscow time.

Following the results of the regular season, Edmonton finished second in the Pacific Division, while Anaheim finished third.
