WADA has imposed more than 300 sanctions on 291 Russian athletes
On April 30, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the completion of Operation LIMS, which imposed 302 sanctions on 291 Russian athletes.
"To date, 23 anti-doping organizations (ADOs) have imposed a total of 302 sanctions on 291 Russian athletes (11 athletes have received two sanctions for different violations). Four more athletes have been charged, but a final decision has not yet been made," a statement on WADA's official website said.
Russian athletes in athletics, weightlifting, biathlon, wrestling and other sports were sanctioned. There are para-athletes among them.
On March 24, World Athletics lifted all sanctions against the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) in connection with doping violations. Now Russian athletes will be able to compete at international tournaments under the national flag. Prior to that, the VFLA was suspended from international competitions in 2015 after a report by the independent WADA commission.
