Early years and education

Fyodor Vyacheslavovich Shchukin was born on August 4, 1976 in the village of Pochinki, Pochinkovsky district, Gorky region (now Nizhny Novgorod Region). In 1992, he graduated with honors from the Pochinkovskaya Secondary school No. 1 named after A.M. Gorky.

In 1997, Shchukin graduated from the Faculty of Law of Nizhny Novgorod Lobachevsky State University with a degree in jurisprudence. In 2002, he received his second higher education in Public and Municipal Administration at the Ogarev Mordovian State University.

Career in the judicial system

Shchukin began his judicial career in May 2004 at the age of 28 with the appointment of a justice of the peace in his native village of Pochinki. A year and a half later, he moved to the Pochinkovsky District Court, where he worked for eight years.

In 2013, Shchukin was appointed chairman of the Semenovsky District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Since November 2020, he has held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court, where he worked for more than three years.

Assignment to Dagestan

In February 2024, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Fyodor Shchukin was appointed Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Dagestan for a six-year term of office. The presentation of the new chairman of the court took place with the participation of the head of the republic Sergey Melikov and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Vladimir Davydov.

In April 2024, Shchukin participated in the appointment of the chairmen of four district courts of Dagestan, where he emphasized the high professionalism of the appointed heads and expressed confidence that their work would be "a good help to strengthen the authority of the judiciary."

Characteristic

At the April 30 meeting, Putin praised Shchukin's professional and personal qualities. "He is a decent, consistent and honest man. It works in principle, but conflict—free," the head of state noted.

During the meeting, Putin also drew attention to the need for the future head of the republic to rely on local personnel and form a unified management team with the participation of heads of municipalities.
