The doctor called the early symptoms indicative of cancer
Based on the patient's symptoms and complaints, the doctor can recommend a full-fledged examination that will help confirm or deny the diagnosis of cancer. Evgeny Chichikov, an oncologist and chemotherapist at Hadassah Medical Center, told about this on Thursday, April 30.
According to the doctor, the typical common symptoms of cancer are fatigue, rapid fatigue, subfebrile fever (just above 37), and weight loss for no reason. At the same time, these manifestations are typical not only for cancer, but also for many other diseases, he noted.
So, if there are moles that change shape, color and size in a short time, then in such cases there is a suspicion of melanoma.
"An admixture of blood in the stool or urine is also important — a suspicion of cancer of the gastrointestinal tract or urinary tract. Seals in the mammary glands, the appearance of asymmetry, and a change in the shape of the nipple are suspected of breast cancer. Prolonged cough in smokers and non—smokers is a suspicion of lung cancer," the oncologist warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
He added that these and any other symptoms that did not exist before should be a reason to consult a doctor and order a follow-up examination.
The oncologist added that the most effective method of detecting the disease is screening.
Earlier, on April 29, endocrinologist and nutritionist Anton Polyakov warned about the dangers of eating sausages in dough and whites due to the risk of developing cancer. The specialist noted that sausages and other similar semi-finished products are not considered useful products and may increase the risk of developing cancer.
