The fourth campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" took place in Nizhny Novgorod

The All-Russian ecological and patriotic campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" opens the fourth season. In 2026, the project was launched on April 30 in Nizhny Novgorod.

Nizhny Novgorod is rightfully considered an important cultural, historical and social center of the Volga region. By decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, 2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of the Russian Federation, which makes the campaign particularly important. The theme reflects the main idea of the project "Peculiarities of national cleaning", which unites the multinational people of the country through their love of nature and helps to form an ecological culture in the regions.

"The campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" is a significant example of how the environmental agenda can unite people, cities and regions of our country around a common, truly important cause. Today, it is especially important that caring for nature becomes part of public culture, part of everyone's daily responsibility," said Dmitry Kobylkin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

He called it symbolic that in the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the project continues its development, uniting the multinational people of the country through respect for their native land, traditions and a common future.

"For the fourth year now, the campaign has not only formed environmental habits, but also strengthened social unity and respect for the country's national natural heritage," Kobylkin concluded.

The event is held in a festive format: in addition to cleaning the territory, participants will enjoy performances by creative teams, thematic activities and acquaintance with the cultural peculiarities of the region. The project has been implemented for three years and has received a wide public response since its launch. Following the results of three seasons, the campaign covered 30 regions of Russia. More than 37 thousand people took part in the events, and together over 400 tons of garbage were collected.

The start of the new season in Nizhny Novgorod will be the beginning of an ecological route across the country. As in previous years, the campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" will unite residents of different ages and professions around a common cause — caring for nature, a small homeland and the future of Russia. Traditionally, during the event, residents of the region will be able to contact representatives of the Compass Foundation with their environmental initiatives, suggestions and questions.

In 2026, the campaign will continue to unite the regions of Russia, confirming that love of nature, respect for traditions and willingness to work together are an important part of the national character and common ecological culture.
