Russians who leave home for more than five days during the May holidays can apply for recalculation of payments for housing and communal services (HCS) - cold and hot water, sanitation, gas and garbage collection. Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, recalled this on April 30.
"This year, the May holidays don't add up to one big long weekend. But many still plan to leave — to the country, to relatives, to another region, or take a few days off between holidays. It is worth remembering the right to recalculate individual payments for housing and communal services. According to current regulations, a person must be absent from the apartment for more than five full calendar days in a row," he told RIA Novosti.
It should be borne in mind that the day of departure and the day of return are not included in the absence schedule. Russians also have the opportunity to recalculate individual utilities.
"There is an important condition: the apartment must not be equipped with meters precisely because of the confirmed technical impossibility of their installation. If there are counters, you just need to transmit the actual readings. If there was no consumption, this should be reflected in the charges," the parliamentarian drew attention.
On April 11, Roskachestvo reported that in order to recalculate payments for housing and communal services, it is necessary to record the fact of their inadequate quality and contact the emergency dispatch service. After the appeal, as a rule, an inspection is carried out, following which an act is drawn up. It is this document or other evidence, including meter readings, that can serve as the basis for recalculation.
