The Russian Embassy in Paris has managed to secure a repeat visit to the detained founder of the SOS Donbass Association for assistance to residents of Donbass, Russian citizen Anna Novikova, in prison. This was announced on April 30 by Russian Ambassador to France Alexey Meshkov.

"We have now succeeded in visiting her again," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.

He also said that attempts are being made to convince the French side to reconsider the decision on the conditions of her detention.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 1 that Russia was calling on France to immediately release Novikova. The statement notes that Moscow considers her criminal prosecution unacceptable and associates it with expressing a position that does not coincide with the official line of Paris.

Novikova, who was detained in France on December 13 last year, said that police officers with machine guns broke into her early in the morning, took her out with a bag over her head and interrogated her for several hours for several days. She sought medical help once for dizziness. Between interrogations, Novikova slept most of the time, which helped to keep calm.
