The Russian state Corporation Rosatom is ready to develop a comprehensive plan of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy for the Republic of Congo. This was announced on April 29 by Alexey Likhachev, General Director of the state corporation.

"We are looking for an economic model, we are looking for a place of application. So, in general, we are moving forward with the Ministry of Energy of the Congo in this direction. Our task is to offer <... > Congo has a roadmap, a joint action plan in the nuclear energy sector," Likhachev said.

Likhachev noted that it would be most expedient to start cooperation with projects of floating nuclear power plants. According to him, floating nuclear power plants can be the optimal solution for the Congo's energy system.

"They have a shorter creation time, shorter creation time, and capital investment, and accordingly, the price of electricity is just right for what is called the Congo economy," he stressed.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the readiness of Russian companies to work in the Congo. He noted that the countries are developing cooperation in various sectors of the economy: exploration, logistics, energy and agriculture.
