The U.S. Treasury Department has extended until May 30 the license allowing operations to negotiate and conclude contracts related to the sale of Lukoil's foreign assets. This was reported on the agency's website on April 29.

"The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury issues a general license related to Russia, authorizing certain transactions for the negotiation and conclusion of conditional purchase and sale agreements for Lukoil International GmbH and related maintenance work," the document says the US Treasury.

It is noted that the document allows for a limited range of transactions aimed at the possible sale of the company's foreign assets. It is specified that the license extension provides additional time to complete negotiations and finalize relevant agreements.

In mid-April, the US Treasury Department renewed the license for the sale of Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. The permit will be valid until May 16.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on April 22 that more than 10 countries had asked the United States to extend the validity of a temporary license to purchase Russian oil. The Minister stressed that we are talking about states that are in dire need of energy resources.
