The defendants in the case of the attempted assassination of Lieutenant-General Alekseev extended their arrest

The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow extended the arrest of three defendants in the case of the attempted assassination of Lieutenant General of the Russian Defense Ministry Vladimir Alekseev. This was reported to Izvestia on April 29 in court.

Lubomir Korba, Viktor Vasin and his son Pavel (all listed by Rosfinmonitoring as extremists and terrorists) will remain in custody until August 6. Zinaida Serebritskaya (listed as a terrorist and extremist) is also involved in the case — she was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list.

Earlier it was reported that Pavel Vasin refused to confess in the case.

The assassination attempt on General Alekseev took place on February 6. The victim was taken to one of the city hospitals, where he regained consciousness. The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the investigation of the case under articles on attempted murder and illegal trafficking of firearms. Later, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that an article about an attempt on the life of a serviceman had been added to the case.

The participants in the assassination attempt, Korba and Vasin Sr., pleaded guilty to the crime on February 9. The FSB of Russia noted that Korba, the perpetrator of the assassination attempt, was trained at a shooting range in Kiev and was recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with the assistance of Poland.
