- Sobyanin spoke about Moscow's rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities
Every year, more than 200,000 Muscovites with disabilities participate in rehabilitation programs in the capital. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in the Maks messenger. 20% of them participate in comprehensive rehabilitation programs in urban centers, and 80% receive the necessary assistance from public organizations with which the metropolitan authorities conclude relevant agreements on the basis of allocated subsidies or concluded state contracts.
Muscovites with disabilities in need of rehabilitation measures can receive high-tech assistance in 10 urban rehabilitation centers, where robotic assistive technologies, biofeedback simulators, VR technologies and other advanced world-class assistance technologies are already being tested and put into daily practice. Moscow residents can also use mobile rehabilitation services with specialist home visits — in 2025, more than 3.3 thousand residents of the capital from different districts received this opportunity. This type of assistance is provided by such reputable medical institutions as the Moscow City Rehabilitation Center, the Krasnaya Pakhra Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled, the Scientific and Practical Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation named after L.I. Shvetsova and other institutions. The city also provides people with disabilities with technical rehabilitation equipment, prosthetic and orthopedic products, and absorbent underwear.
Social and cultural adaptation programs are also taking place in the capital, helping people with disabilities to adapt to society, find something to do and like-minded people.
