Almost 50 cameras will monitor fires in the forests of the Kurgan region
The digital system "Forest Guard" has been launched in the Kurgan region. It includes 47 cameras with artificial intelligence that monitor the condition of forests and promptly transmit the exact coordinates of fires to dispatchers.
The system started working with the start of the fire season in 2026. A special fire protection regime has been introduced in the region since April 20.
The devices control the fire situation in more than 200 settlements in 24 municipal districts, the press service of the Rostelecom branch in the Tyumen and Kurgan regions said.
Lesohranitor is a comprehensive solution that, in addition to cameras, includes special software, injectors, remote power management devices, Wi-Fi routers and protection from thunderstorms.
Highly sensitive optical equipment is installed at a height of at least 40 m. The cameras take a full view of the area every 10-12 minutes. The coverage of each device reaches 35 km.
According to the <url> news agency, in 2025, the Forest Guard helped identify about 50 potentially dangerous situations and prevent the spread of fires.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that starting in 2026, the reserve funds of the regions were required to take into account funds for the prevention and elimination of natural disasters. This is at least 0.1% of the total tax and non-tax revenues and subsidies.
