Merab Dzhangveladze, known in the criminal world as Merab Sukhumsky, a thief in law, was put on the international wanted list because of his high position in the criminal hierarchy. This was announced on April 29 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"Merab Dzhangveladze has been put on the international wanted list on charges of occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. Interior Ministry investigators are asking the Tverskoy Court of Moscow to order his arrest in absentia," the source told TASS.

Consideration of the issue of choosing a preventive measure in absentia against Dzhangveladze is scheduled for April 30. Information about his search is also contained in the relevant database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the incriminated article, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

On April 24, the Moscow City Court announced the transfer of the criminal case of Belgorod businessman Vladimir Tebekin, accused of occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, fraud and illegal banking activities. The reason for the transfer of the case to the capital was the fear of law enforcement officers in the continued influence of Tebekin on government agencies in his native region.
