In the Amur region, a large gold miner, JSC Pokrovsky Mine, caused soil damage in excess of 29 million rubles. This was calculated by the Amur Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor.

According to PriamurMedia news agency with reference to the regional Arbitration, this was established based on the results of a planned on-site inspection at the Katrin gold deposit in the Magdagachinsky district. In the soil samples, experts found an excess concentration of pollutants such as sulfur, chromium, manganese and cobalt.

In addition, the State Labor Inspectorate revealed violations of labor legislation in JSC Pokrovsky Mine. The inspection took place from 6 to 17 April. It turned out that the company has violations that directly affect the safety of employees.

Earlier it was reported that in the Amur region, an enterprise engaged in gold mining caused environmental damage, which was estimated at 17.3 million rubles. The gold mining company operated in the basin of the Burgali Creek. During the inspection, it turned out that the company was dumping sewage into the stream in excess of the norms of hazardous substances. This caused harm to aquatic biological resources, the environment and local residents.
