Ekaterina Ivanovna Perepelova, a participant in the Great Patriotic War and a former minor prisoner of Nazi concentration camps, passed away at the age of 99 in Pskov. This was announced on April 29 by the mayor Boris Yelkin.

"Ekaterina Ivanovna Perepelova, a man of amazing destiny, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, a former minor prisoner of Nazi concentration camps, a veteran of labor, an Honorary citizen of Pskov, has passed away," the mayor of Pskov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also said that Ekaterina Ivanovna was born on March 18, 1927 in the village of Lukhnovo, Pskov region. The war caught her when she was only 12. Having survived the horrors of the German occupation, in 1944, she and her sister were deported to Lithuania for forced labor in Nazi camps. It was only in 1945 that the Red Army soldiers liberated the sisters. After the war, Ekaterina Ivanovna participated in the mine clearance of Pskov, defusing mines and shells.

The mayor expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Ekaterina Ivanovna and invited those who wished to come to say goodbye to the veteran on April 30 at the White Moss cemetery in Pskov.
