- A resident of Khakassia was sentenced to 11 years for justifying the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.
In Khakassia, the 2nd Eastern District Military Court issued a verdict against a resident of the republic accused of treason and public justification of terrorism, including the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. This was announced by the court's press service on April 29.
"The court convicted a resident of the Republic of Khakassia for preparing to incite citizens of the Russian Federation to high treason, publicly justifying terrorism and a crime against state power. <...> The court ordered a combination of crimes <...> punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 11 years to be served in a high—security penal colony," reads a message posted on the court's channel in the Maks messenger.
According to investigators, the man was an opponent of a special military operation and posted publications and comments calling for funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
It also follows from the case file that in 2022 and 2023, the accused posted publications with comments justifying the terrorist attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Crimean Bridge and the terrorist attack against Russian military personnel on the territory of Makeyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
On April 24, a court sentenced a resident of the Mikhailovsky district of the Zaporizhia region to 14 years in a general regime penal colony in a case of high treason. A Russian citizen born in 1960 installed a Ukrainian mobile application on her smartphone and provided financial assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
