Finnish politician Mema called NATO an aggressive alliance
NATO is an aggressive alliance. This was announced on April 29 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party.
"NATO is an aggressive alliance that poses a threat to Russia," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the politician, the Finnish authorities are also trying to convince citizens that the Russian side allegedly poses a threat. Mema noted that this is being done to justify the initiative for a new law allowing the import and storage of nuclear weapons (NWS) in the country.
On April 23, the Finnish Ministry of Defense announced that the government had submitted to parliament a proposal to allow the import and storage of nuclear weapons for the purpose of defending the country within the framework of cooperation with NATO. At the same time, the acquisition, production, development and research of nuclear weapons in the country will be prohibited.
In March, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that NATO's aggressive aspirations against Russia continue to expand. She stressed that Moscow had tried all the ways to establish relations with NATO, but with no result. The alliance is only concerned about one thing — inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia. Prior to that, Zakharova also noted that NATO is strengthening and increasing its nuclear potential, which it can use in a potential conflict against the Russian Federation.
