Bans on Victory Day symbols in Germany are considered immoral in the Russian Federation. This was announced on April 29 by Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev.

"Among the examples of politicization of the memorial sphere <...> we can recall the so—called "recommendations" of the German Foreign Ministry to land and municipal structures to refrain from inviting Russian representatives and participating with them in memorial actions. <...> We categorically do not accept such approaches, considering them immoral," Nechaev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He stressed that Russia condemns the concealment of the leading role of the Red Army in defeating Nazism.
