Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import and turnover of Jermuk mineral water in Russia due to possible harm to health, and an excess of chemicals was detected in it. The agency announced this on April 28.

"Rospotrebnadzor has introduced a temporary sanitary measure to suspend the import and turnover of Jermuk mineral water in Russia...Rospotrebnadzor has sent information to the Operator-CRPT in order to suspend the possibility of selling Jermuk mineral water imported into Russia," Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement on the Maks channel.

The publication notes that a temporary sanitary measure has been introduced for mineral water with certain production dates. These products do not correspond to the data indicated on the label, which is a violation, the agency notes. An increased amount of bicarbonate ion, chlorides and sulfates was detected in the water. The message clarifies that this can lead to misconceptions about medicinal properties, as well as negatively affect health.
