Iran found itself in a state of collapse and asked the United States to coordinate the opening of the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible. This was announced on April 28 by the American President Donald Trump.

"Iran has just informed us that they are in a state of collapse. They want us to "open the Strait of Hormuz" as soon as possible while they try to figure out who runs their country (I believe they can do it!)," he wrote on the Truth Social network.

On the same day, the representative of the republic's Defense Ministry, General Reza Talaian, said that Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz to ship traffic only if there were no threats to the republic. He noted that Trump often makes frivolous statements about the destruction of civilizations and the overthrow of governments, so his victory should not be allowed.

CNN reported on April 27 that the United States and Iran continue to conduct behind-the-scenes negotiations on a peaceful settlement, the first stage of which may be an agreement to return to the pre-war status quo and resume free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. It is noted that the issue of the Iranian nuclear program will have to be considered later.
