The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) use Starlink terminals to strike at civilians. This was announced on April 27 by a sapper of the 238th Guards Artillery Brigade of the Southern group with the call sign Cairo.

"Today we arrived to work at a civilian facility where a Ukrainian—made FP-1 bird (attack drone) arrived. It got stuck in the roof and didn't explode. <...> And the highlight is the American—made Starlink terminal, released in 2026," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The sapper also pointed out that inscriptions in Ukrainian were found on the wings of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and its two two-stroke engines were manufactured in Ukraine. He added that the camera from this drone will be handed over to engineers to study its device and develop countermeasures.

On April 27, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that Valery Povarov, commander of the 425th Regiment of Unmanned Systems (BpS) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was accused of fictitious purchase of drones, which was carried out only on paper. According to available information, according to the accounting documents, the military personnel of the unit perform tasks in the Sumy region and lose drones as a result of "combat work". At the same time, according to security officials, in reality, UAV operators live in elite areas of Kiev and Odessa, and the drones themselves are purchased only on paper.
