Beglov spoke about the progress of the HSR construction
The construction of a High-speed railway (HSR) within the borders of St. Petersburg is on schedule. This was announced by Governor Alexander Beglov during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on April 27.
"We are on schedule for the HSR. There are no problems, the first piles were driven in. Of course, there are many questions, but they are being resolved. There are always questions when such large projects are underway," said Alexander Beglov.
The Governor noted that the high-speed railway is not only one of the largest infrastructure projects of the XXI century in the country, but also included in the city program "Ten priorities for the development of St. Petersburg" until 2030.
According to him, the launch of the expressway will make it possible to unload the main course of the Oktyabrskaya railway, which will create conditions for the organization of the clock movement of electric trains in Kolpino.
Alexander Beglov stressed that the project is of key importance both for St. Petersburg and for the whole country. It will form the basis for the formation of a domestic network of high-speed railways and open up new economic opportunities for the regions.
It is expected that the implementation of the HSR will lead to job creation, increased development of territories and increased mobility of the population. For St. Petersburg, the project will also become a driver of economic growth, increase the tourist flow and ensure the development of transport infrastructure in the central part of the city.
In addition, the construction of the new Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya metro line in St. Petersburg has already been accelerated as part of the HSR implementation.
