What is known about the suspect's arrest

Moscow investigators and police have detained a man born in 1982 on suspicion of a brutal murder in western Moscow. According to the Investigative Committee (IC), the body of a woman with multiple stab wounds was found in a room on Vereyskaya Street.

The location of the suspect was established as soon as possible. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").

According to the Izvestia source, the victim of the crime was 36-year-old designer Victoria M. The alleged perpetrator turned out to be 43-year-old Mikhail S., whom the deceased had not previously known.

What caused the conflict

According to investigators, the motive for the aggression could be construction noise. Izvestia found out that neighboring houses are being prepared for demolition, half of the residents have already been relocated, and large-scale construction is underway nearby, which does not stop even at night.

According to the detainee's sister, he was not at home on the day of the murder, and he returned late in the evening. Recently, the man who worked as a taxi driver began to drink more often and hardly communicated with relatives.

It is noted that earlier, in 2010, he had already been detained for threats using a knife. During a search of the suspect's residence, an extensive collection of bladed weapons was discovered, including pocket knives, machetes and Japanese swords, as well as a shotgun.

Surveillance cameras recorded the moment of the attack. The footage, published on April 27, shows how the criminal enters the office of a woman and stabs her at least six times with a knife, after which he disappears.

According to the latest data from the Moscow office of the Investigative Committee, his actions were not limited to this. After the murder in the commercial premises, the defendant headed down Vereiskaya Street, where he attacked an unknown passerby.

He struck the young man with at least five rebar blows in the area of vital organs. As a result, another case was initiated — an attempted murder. The court, at the request of the investigation, has already chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the defendant.
