Zakharova accused Kiev of ignoring nuclear safety due to the attacks on the nuclear power plant

Ukraine continues to carry out attacks on peaceful nuclear energy facilities, demonstrating disregard for nuclear safety issues. This was announced on April 27 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We strongly condemn this atrocity. We express our deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We note the courage and steadfastness of the staff of the NPP, who, despite deadly threats and provocations from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, continues to fulfill their duty," she said on the agency's website.

Zakharova also called it particularly cynical that Kiev's actions followed a few days after the closure of the 10th Nuclear Safety Meeting. At that forum, Russia opposed attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities.
