The Iranian authorities are "humiliating" the United States, and Washington is unable to find a solution to the Middle East conflict. This was announced on April 27 by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, quoted by the German N-tv channel. ""

"The Americans obviously don't have a strategy [to end the war with Iran]. Tehran and especially the IRGC humiliate the entire American people," the Chancellor said.

Merz also clarified that he himself does not have an understanding of how the United States intends to get out of the conflict and noted that "the Iranians are skillfully negotiating – or very skillfully not conducting them."

At the same time, the German leader recalled that Washington had not consulted with Berlin or the rest of Europe about the start of the operation. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that he had expressed skepticism several times about the very course of the American-Israeli operation in Iran and added that he would have been more persistent in conveying this idea to the White House if he had known that the war would last "five to six weeks and [the US position] would become it's getting worse and worse."

Al Mayadeen TV channel reported earlier in the day that representatives of Iran, through intermediaries, offered the US authorities to hold talks in three stages. So, according to the initiative of Tehran, in the first stage, the parties should focus on ending the war. Iran, as well as Lebanon, must receive guarantees of non-aggression. After that, the second stage will begin. The negotiators, which will include representatives of Oman, will hold a dialogue on the management of the Strait of Hormuz after the establishment of peace. At the final stage, the Iranian delegation will be able to start discussing the nuclear issue only after concluding agreements on the two stages described above.

On April 25, US President Donald Trump announced that he had received a new proposal from Tehran after canceling the trip of American negotiators to Pakistan. He stressed that it was about the content of the document, where Iran's guarantees to renounce possession of nuclear weapons remain a key point.
