A new medical specialty will appear in Russia — a doctor in the field of healthy longevity medicine. The decision was made within the framework of the national project "Long and active life" and reflects the transition of the healthcare system from the treatment of diseases to their prevention. Cardiologist, PhD Alexander Orlov in an interview with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Monday, April 27, he noted that preventive medicine was not taken seriously in Russia until June 20, 2024, but after including the topic of healthy longevity among national priorities, scientific institutes began to actively develop this area.

According to him, this has become an indicator of a real turnaround in the healthcare system. He explained that most serious diseases form gradually, going through stages that are not yet considered a disease and remain outside the attention of medicine. At the same time, as the specialist noted, the new work model is focused specifically on this period — before diagnosis, and the aging process itself is considered pathological, requiring correction.

He recalled the statement by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova that with slow aging, people can already live up to 100-120 years, and the task of the state is to make this the norm. Health centers and early diagnosis programs are being developed for this purpose.

Orlov also drew attention to the risks: as the popularity of preventive medicine grows, people without specialized education come to it, which can undermine confidence in the direction. He stressed that now patients with a request for prevention often remain without help, since there is no formal diagnosis. In this context, the new specialty, in his opinion, should become a full-fledged tool for working with such people, rather than a formal unit.

Earlier on April 27, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that a healthy lifestyle would help to increase its duration. According to him, for example, exercising for 40 minutes improves more than 250 blood parameters, writes RT.

On April 25, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted that the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation had already submitted for discussion an order on the specialty "doctor of medicine for healthy longevity." According to her, over 250 people have already been retrained by health workers, and these are mainly therapists, the website clarifies. kp.ru . She recalled that the medicine of healthy longevity is included in the program of state guarantees of free medical care, notes 360.ru .

At the same time, Golikova said that longevity is not inherited, so you need to take care of yourself from a young age. According to her, this will allow a person to adjust their habits and lifestyle in a timely manner.

Olga Tkacheva, chief freelance geriatrician at the Ministry of Health, Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said on April 4 that more than 17,000 people over the age of one hundred live in Russia. Healthcare, according to her, should be focused on the prevention and control of chronic diseases, education — on continuous learning, social support — on maintaining independence, culture — on the active participation of the older generation.

In March, therapist Zarema Ten said that the secret to achieving the centenary lies not in the search for a magical "superfood", but in consistent adherence to a scientifically based biochemical nutrition model. The Mediterranean diet has been recognized as the most effective strategy. Pravda.Ru .
