A 26-year-old man has been detained in Singapore, suspected of unauthorized access to the server of the Paramount+ streaming platform and publishing the full version of the animated film "Avatar: The Last Airbender" on the Internet before its official release. This was reported by the publication Variety.

"It was painful for us to see the footage from Avatar: The Last Airbender in the public domain. This leak did not originate from Flying Bark. Our studio was proud to participate in the production until the very end and pays tribute to the directors, voice actors, artists and animators who worked tirelessly on this film, " said a representative of the Australian animation studio Flying Bark Productions.

According to the Straits Times, local police seized electronic devices from the suspect, including a digital copy of an unreleased painting. The man got remote access to the media server, downloaded the movie and published it on the X platform (ex. Twitter). According to Singapore law, unauthorized access to computer materials can result in up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000. Sources confirmed that the leak was not organized from inside the studio.

The film's director, Lauren Montgomery, previously expressed disappointment over the postponement of the release to streaming in a post on Instagram (owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization in Russia).

The film is directed by Lauren Montgomery.

We showed the final film to the crew and celebrated the completion of a four-year journey. The recent decision to move from theatrical screening to streaming may give the impression that the quality was insufficient, but this is not the case at all. This movie deserves a big screen!

The movie "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is based on the Nickelodeon animated series "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" and was created by the Australian studio Flying Bark Productions. The voices of the characters were voiced by Dave Batista, Steven Yeung and Eric Nam; the co-director was William Mata. The film was originally scheduled to be released in theaters on October 9, but in December 2024, Paramount+ announced an exclusive streaming release, sparking a wave of protests among fans.

On March 24, Medialogia presented on its website a Russian series rating consisting of the 100 most popular projects of the past year. The South Korean thriller "The Squid Game" took the first place with 42,861 points, the second place was taken by the American science fiction series "Stranger Things" (26,572 points), and the third place was taken by the Russian detective "Sled" (20,361 points).
