Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel spent about €65,000 from the state budget on hairdressing and makeup artist services. This was reported on the website of the Bundestag press service.

"The cost of hairdressing and makeup services from July 1, 2024 to March 31, 2026 amounted to €64,677," the publication says.

In addition, Merkel made nine trips from July 2024 to March 2026, spending more than 10 thousand euros. Former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in turn, made four trips, for which over €6 thousand was spent.

"The total expenses for office equipment of former German Chancellors Angela Merkel and Olaf Scholz (from May 6, 2025) amounted to €473,289 in the second half of 2024, €1,443,212 in 2025 and €408,174 in the first quarter of 2026," the Bundestag noted.
