During the violent clashes, the minister was injured, he was taken to the hospital, but it was not possible to save him.

On April 25, Reuters reported that explosions and gunfire were heard near the main Malian military base of Kati, which is located near the capital Bamako. A number of sites inside the State were attacked by armed terrorist groups, including the capital of the republic. Later, the representative of the Malian army, Suleiman Dembele, said that the Armed Forces of the state had eliminated at least 80 militants who participated in attacks on government positions.
