In the city of Kimry, Tver region, a three-year-old child died after falling from a fifth-floor window of an apartment building. This was announced by the regional prosecutor's office on April 26.

"The victim died in a medical facility," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to preliminary data, the boy was alone in the room and opened the window on his own. At the time of the incident, his mother was in another part of the apartment.

An inspection is currently underway, during which all the circumstances and causes of the incident will be established.

The prosecutor's office noted that following the results of the audit, an assessment will be given of compliance with the requirements of legislation in the field of protection of the rights of minors. The progress and results of the procedural audit are under the supervision of the supervisory authority.

An inspection is also underway with regard to the guardianship authorities of Norilsk, which were supposed to monitor a dysfunctional family.

After the fall, the child ended up on the roof of the house. Nearby passers-by helped to remove the boy and handed him over to the medical staff who arrived at the scene. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence").
