During a brief visit to Islamabad, the Iranian delegation presented to the Pakistani leadership a comprehensive plan for a ceasefire and a complete end to the war. This was reported on April 26 by Al Mayadeen correspondent Moussa Assi to Izvestia.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi presented to the Pakistani side a detailed plan to establish a truce and end hostilities. At the same time, the possibility of holding a second round of direct talks between Tehran and the United States was not discussed during this visit.

"The US insistence on refusing to take any steps to resolve the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz is related to the effectiveness of the US sanctions imposed against Iran," the correspondent explained.

In addition, the Iranian side expressed concern about the situation in Lebanon and condemned Israeli actions on its territory, emphasizing the need to protect the sovereignty of the Middle Eastern republic.

Islamabad regarded the arrival of the Iranian delegation as an encouraging sign that it could count on continued mediation efforts. The Pakistani partners heard a detailed report on Tehran's approaches to key regional issues.

Assi stressed that this trip demonstrates that Iran does not seek a negotiation process with Washington for the sake of the process itself, but prefers a consistent and thoughtful strategy to resolve conflicts in the region. The current visit is part of a broader regional tour — Iranian representatives have already visited Oman and Russia before Pakistan.

Al Jazeera TV channel reported on April 25 that Araqchi conveyed to the Pakistani side, which mediates in the negotiations between Iran and the United States, the position and remarks of the Islamic Republic regarding Washington's demands. Some time later, as Fox News reported, Trump canceled the trip of special envoy Steven Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner to Pakistan to meet with representatives of Iran.
