The suspect in the shooting at an event with US President Donald Trump at the Washington Hilton hotel was taken to a medical facility. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP) on April 25.

The US President and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, were evacuated from the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on April 25 after the sounds of gunfire. Later, the head of the White House announced that the shooter had been detained. According to the Associated Press (AP), the sounds of five to six shots were heard in the hall where the solemn event was held. According to the New York Post (NYP), the shooter turned out to be a 31-year-old man from California.
