Cultivation of blue lotus, tricolor ipomoea, as well as some types of cacti and mushrooms can lead to imprisonment for up to eight years. Lawyer Vyacheslav Rychkov announced this on April 25.

"For example, plants such as blue lotus, tricolor ipomoea, corymbose turbine, mushrooms of any kind containing psilocybin and (or) psilocin, cacti containing mescaline, cocaine bush, cannabis, sleeping poppies and a number of others are prohibited," said a member of the Russian Bar Association in an interview with RIA Novosti.
