Military personnel of the anti-aircraft missile division of the 4th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (OMSBR) of the Yuzhnaya group of forces use modern interceptor drones to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which penetrate into the rear in order to strike infrastructure facilities in the zone of a special military operation (SVO). On April 25, the Ministry of Defense showed footage of the reflection of the UAV raid by the operators of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

"Basically, we shoot down aircraft—type UAVs - reconnaissance, reconnaissance and strike. We work in cooperation with radar stations (radars). The radar gives us target designation, we take off, and then they coordinate us," the defense ministry quoted the UAV platoon commander with the call sign Ivanets as saying.

The soldier stressed that as a result of the comprehensive work, it was possible to significantly reduce the enemy's activity in the sky over Toretsk.

The unmanned aircraft calculations used standard domestic communication and control systems, thanks to which it was possible to ensure the accurate destruction of targets and effective control of the results of strikes.

The military air defense units of the 4th OMSBR provide cover for civilian and military infrastructure facilities in the rear areas and advanced units, thus ensuring their advancement and maintaining the continuous nature of offensive operations.

Izvestia correspondent Egor Kildibekov noted that the mobile group is armed with a Kalashnikov armored machine gun (PKT). According to him, this weapon is one of the most effective against FPV drones and cruise UAVs.
