Ural Federal University (UrFU), the Higher School of Economics and Lomonosov Moscow State University are among the three largest Russian universities in terms of the number of students. This was reported on April 25 by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

According to the department, UrFU has become the leader in the number of students, where 48.5 thousand people study. The second place was taken by the Higher School of Economics with 47 thousand students. The third position was occupied by Moscow State University, which has more than 45 thousand students.

Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Patrice Lumumba RUDN University also entered the top five of the rating. Each of them has more than 38 thousand students.

In addition, Don State Technical University, MIREA, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, RANEPA and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation were among the top 10 largest universities in Russia.

The results of a survey conducted by SuperJob on April 24 revealed that the most sought-after professions among Russian graduates this year were engineering, medicine and IT. According to the survey, 63% of high school graduates plan to enroll in universities, 11% want to continue their studies at colleges and colleges. 56% of ninth-graders plan to go to college, and another 29% of parents reported that their children have not yet decided.
