Onishchenko called Russia the safest country for recreation
Russia is the safest country for recreation, as there are no infections on its territory. This was announced on April 25 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, epidemiologist, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Gennady Onishchenko.
"We need to go to places where we don't need to get vaccinated. To my beloved Russia!" he said in an interview with TASS.
The epidemiologist also drew attention to the situation in Southeast Asia, where, according to him, cholera is spreading. He warned against traveling to such regions and stressed that vacation destinations should be chosen carefully.
Onishchenko compared a trip to a region where there is a risk of contracting cholera with a trip to a war zone.
Experts from the online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok told Izvestia on April 16 that the shortened configuration of the May holidays this year shifted the focus of tourist demand towards short trips.: Russians plan short trips for certain holiday periods — from 1 to 3 May or from 9 to 11 May.
