Avangard beat Lokomotiv in the first match of the KHL playoff semifinal series

Avangard Omsk defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the opening match of the semi-final playoff series of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The match took place on April 24 in Yaroslavl at the Arena 2000 stadium and ended with a score of 5:2.

Vasily Ponomarev scored in the ninth minute, Andrew Poturalski in the 20th, Maxime Lajoie in the 24th and 42nd, and Joseph Cecconi in the 32nd minute. Denis Alekseev scored goals for the losers in the 34th minute and Maxim Shalunov in the 44th.

The second match of the teams is scheduled for April 26 in Yaroslavl. The Kontinental Hockey League playoffs run from March 23 to May 23, 2026.
