France called for stopping aid to Ukraine due to Kiev's violence against citizens
The European Union's (EU) assistance to Ukraine under the recently approved €90 billion loan should be stopped, as Kiev pursues a policy of violence against its citizens. This was announced on April 24 by the leader of the French right-wing party "Patriots" Florian Philippot.
"At the very moment when we wrote Ukraine another check for €17 billion. (France's share in the European loan. — Ed.), the regime of [President of Ukraine Vladimir] Zelensky continued to kidnap people right off the streets to lead them to the slaughter! Stop! Not a single euro and not a single piece of weapons for Ukraine anymore!" wrote Filippo on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The politician, commenting on a video in which employees of the shopping mall (a territorial recruitment center, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) forcibly push a man into a bus, despite the protests of passers-by, said that what was happening on it spoke of mafia domination, corruption and death in Ukraine.
Filippo added that the EU is using Kiev to force citizens of European states to finance violence in Ukraine.
Zelensky's former press secretary, Yulia Mendel, said on April 19 that the Ukrainian population was unhappy with the forced mobilization on the streets of the country, and everyone was ready to compromise to achieve peace with Russia. Mendel added that everyone she knows would agree to find a negotiated solution to achieve peace between the two countries as soon as possible.
On April 15, the head of the French National Unification Party, Jordan Bardella, noted that financial assistance to Ukraine is detrimental to social programs and the well-being of citizens. According to him, citizens are regularly urged to "tighten their belts," while the state, according to him, is unable to reduce its own costs by even 1%.
