The State Traffic Inspectorate announced mass inspections of drivers in Russia
On Friday and the next weekend (April 24-26), the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk motorists. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the State Traffic Inspectorate.
Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on roads in Vologda, Ivanovo, Tver, Lipetsk, Samara, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in the Komi Republic and other regions of the country.
"Before the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate traditionally reminds motorists about the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol and warns about responsibility for driving under the influence. Mass checks on Russian roads to identify drivers who have got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol are carried out by traffic inspectors on an ongoing basis," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
He noted that for driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as for refusing to undergo a medical examination, deprivation of a driver's license and a heavy fine are provided. Those who got behind the wheel drunk, having already been deprived of their rights, are already facing criminal liability, the Traffic police reminded.
Earlier, on April 20, it was reported that an increase in the limit on life and health payments for CTP from 500 thousand to 2 million rubles may lead to an increase in the cost of CTP policies. According to estimates by the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), the average premium may increase by about 10%.
